Vocabulary learning is a pivotal part of any language development program for young learners both in their home and additional languages.  In this webinar we will briefly cover the importance of vocabulary development for young and very young learners as well as what it means to know a word. We will also explore a wide variety of classroom techniques that will  help children make personal and cognitive connections to the words.

What Will I Learn?

Participants will 
  • become aware of the importance of vocabulary development for young learner
  • be able to create a vocabulary rich environment  for their young learners
  • be able to select target words to feature as part of their overall instructions.

About the Presenter

Caroline Linse is a Senior Lecturer in TESOL at Queen’s University in Belfast. Caroline has extensive experience working with young learners and their teachers throughout the globe.  She is a co-author of many textbook series for young learners including Doodletown 2017 – Macmillan publishers.
